UCL experts attended a Legal Forum in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan — Kazan. This time, the Kazan Forum brought together more than 1,500 participants from 28 countries and 71 cities across Russia. The forum was attended by representatives of leading Russian and international law firms, academics and practitioners from countries such as Brazil, the UAE, the United States, Serbia, Italy, Georgia, and Uzbekistan, as well as lawmakers and officials from various levels of government and members of the judiciary. The scale was truly impressive!
The discussions focused on today’s legal challenges: the role of digitalization in the administration of justice, issues related to ensuring constitutional legality, current topics in sports arbitration, and much more.
Ratmir Proskurnov moderated a session dedicated to international commercial disputes.
Dr. Khaled Alhadhrami shared valuable, practice-oriented insights on how to address modern challenges in resolving cross-border commercial disputes. The key challenges, perhaps, are differences between legal systems, the high cost and lengthy duration of proceedings, and enforcement of decisions. Particularly valuable were Dr. Khaled Alhadhrami’s recommendations on strategies to mitigate the risks outlined above.
Namru Bakaev and Sergey Milutin also attended the Forum.
We would like to extend special thanks to the forum participants and organizers!
