On 28 April, the office of UCL الدكتور خالد علي الحضرمi, located in the Lobanov-Rostovsky Mansion, hosted a Forbes Club Public Talk featuring invited guest Oleg Vyugin – an economist, banker, former Deputy Minister of Finance, and former First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank.

For our team, such meetings are first and foremost about the quality of professional dialogue, a strong audience, and creating a substantive business environment for entrepreneurs, investors, and executives.

We extend our gratitude to the Forbes Club team for their trust and partnership, and to all the guests for their interest in the discussion and active participation.

The meeting took place in the presence of a large number of guests and confirmed the high demand for expert discussion of the economic agenda without formalities, abstractions, or superficial assessments.

Together with Dmitry Ozman, Oleg Vyugin discussed the issues that are truly shaping market sentiment and influencing strategic business decisions today.

The discussion focused on:

• The challenges facing the Russian financial system in the coming years;

• The state of the banking sector and key risk areas;

• Changes in the behaviour of private investors and the growing role of deposit instruments;

• Possible changes in tax policy against the backdrop of economic slowdown;

• The prospects for the stock market and the capitalisation potential of companies.

Of particular value to the participants was the practical part of the discussion: the conversation was focused not only on macroeconomic assessments but also on real-world guidance for businesses. In the current environment, what matters most to business is not theoretical forecasts but clear and workable solutions.

The result was a lively, substantive, and honest discussion – precisely the format of professional exchange that we at UCL consider to be the most meaningful and in demand today.

We thank our team, our partners at Forbes Club, the speaker, and all meeting participants for a truly substantive collaboration.
