The UAE banking system remains stable. All banks, including local institutions and international branches, continue to operate in the normal course of business in accordance with standard working hours.

During Ramadan, adjusted working hours apply to banks and governmental institutions. Branches located in shopping malls continue operating without changes. ATM networks remain fully functional and available for standard banking services.

Temporary disruptions have been reported in certain online services due to a region-wide IT incident that began on Monday. Multiple reports indicate intermittent interruptions in online banking platforms and mobile applications.

Amazon confirmed that drone strikes affected two of its UAE data centres and a facility in Bahrain, causing physical damage and regional cloud service disruptions. The incidents impacted AWS Middle East in the UAE and Bahrain. Restoration is in progress; however, due to infrastructure damage, recovery may require additional time. Clients have been advised to ensure data backups and consider temporary workload diversification to other regions.

Clients of First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) may experience limited access to the online banking application. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) has confirmed a temporary outage affecting certain digital services.

“In light of a region-wide IT disruption affecting multiple infrastructure and cloud service providers, some FAB customers may currently experience difficulties accessing our internet banking services or may encounter intermittent interruption when attempting to log in or complete transactions.

The disruption originates from external service providers and is affecting a number of organisations across the region. FAB systems accounts and customers data remain secured and there is no impact on the safety of the funds.

We are working closely with the partners endlessly to restore services soon”

– Yash Bohra, Director, FAB Elite, comments on the situation exclusively for UCL.

Some digital banks may also be experiencing increased pressure on customer support lines. Wio Bank PJSC has notified clients that its phone support remains available 24/7.

Authorities and institutions are working to mitigate the disruptions and restore full digital functionality. Overall, the banking system remains operational and stable.
